  • ChicagoFIRST welcomes its newest member, Kirkland and Ellis.
  • At the January Members Meeting, ChicagoFIRST members reelected Michael Wallace of BMO Harris to service a one-year term as Chairperson of the Board and Theresa Enright-Oleson as Vice-Chairperson.  In addition, Jeffery Kenyon of MB Financial, Katy Hurst of Northern Trust and Arlan McMillan of Kirkland were elected as board members.  Congratulations!
  • The first Quarterly member and strategic partner meeting of 2017 was held in January and featured emergency management officials from Cook, DuPage and Will counties discussing their agency  resources and capabilities as well as the significant risks to businesses and residents in their domains.  ComEd also discussed the Statewide Power exercise that wll take place in May and how ChicagoFIRST members can participate.
  • ChicagoFIRST co-coordinated the February 2017 Chicago Electronic Crimes Task Force Meeting with the US Secret Service and Tom Fleming of SILA.  The topic was the reemergence of account takeover fraud as the conversion to chip and pin credit cards continues. ChicagoFIRST member Bill Barouski of Northern Trust joined the a panel of experts from Verizon, Groupon and Akamai to discuss trends and solutions to battle emerging fraud on the web and mobile devices. Thanks to ChicagoFIRST member CBOE for hosting the event.
  • The February Business Continuity Workgroup meeting  featured CME Group discussing their incident management and business continuity response planing framework and Mesirow Financial presenting their Business Continuity Training and Awareness Program. These workgroup meetings provide a forum for firms with similar risk profiles to share best practices for fortifying their business continuity, cyber security and physical security programs..

    The public television show, Chicago Tonight, twice aired a segment describing the role of ChicagoFIRST within the Chicago financial community. The video serves as an excellent primer on the organization.
